I’m sure that the more cynical folks out there will simply deem this as an interview to meet NFL requirements and assume that Klint Kubiak is getting the job anyway. Outside of the information above, I don’t know a heck of a lot about Tyke Tolbert. He was the Broncos’ wide receivers coach from 2011 to 2017, and has been with the Giants since 2018. He’s also had stops in Buffalo (2004 - 2009), Carolina (2010) before his time with Denver. Tolbert got his start in the NFL with the Arizona Cardinals in 2003 as their wide receivers coach, meaning that he would have been on the Cardinals’ sidelines for the infamous “Nate Poole” game that finished that season. He does, however, have ties to Gary Kubiak, as he was the receivers coach for the Denver Broncos in 20, when Kubiak coached the team to a victory in Super Bowl 50. Per numerous reports, the Vikings will be bringing in New York Giants’ wide receivers coach Tyke Tolbert to interview for the job.Īccording to our friends at Big Blue View, Tolbert has been a receivers coach in the NFL since 2003 and has never before been a coordinator at any level. Connect with him on Twitter and join our Vikings community at Heavy on Vikings on Facebook. We haven’t heard a lot as far as the search for a new offensive coordinator for the Minnesota Vikings yet, but a new name has surfaced as the team looks to replace Gary Kubiak.
